John Le Carré (1931-2020): a great literary talent in service of the spy novel

The British writer, author of books such as The Spy Who Came In from the Cold and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and creator of the most complex of spies in all espionage literature, George Smiley, died of pneumonia this Sunday aged 89.
